Published list of open source projects we support

At Twisted Js, we are fervent supporters of Open Source and FOSS solutions as alternatives to more locked down or opaque offerings from companies only chasing licensing costs. Our next few posts will be spotlights into the Open Source and FOSS solutions we use in our day to day operations. An anticipated list includes:

  • NextCloud – Secure, fast, and simple cloud solution that can be self-hosted, but includes a large number of excellent tools and features
  • ITFlow – An open source alternative to bulky MSP dashboard solutions like ITGlue
  • Tactical RMM – Open source alternative to N-Able or other RMM solutions. Built from the ground up with security and a clear dependency chain to prevent malicious code
  • Bookstack – Our Knowledgebase portal, and an excellent documentation platform
  • ProxMox – We use the Virtualization platform for hosting our various servers as VMs, we also use the mail filter to reduce spam and allow for content inspection. We will be rolling out the backup solution soon as well.
  • OSTicket – Our incident management system. We have extended some of the features using plugins, but the platform is very flexible out of the box, so the changes were simple.
  • ImUp – We have partnered with ImUp.io for internet access monitoring, bandwidth logging, and uptime metrics. As a client solution, it makes tracing connectivity issues simple and convenient, and the platform has a built-in option to contact your ISP to request credits for downtime as well!

Stay tuned for the spotlight series coming soon!
